Warning

Keep in mind that OCD applies real damage to your mesh, not just a texture effect, so use it wisely. It doesn't make sense to create a high-poly damaged edge for a background object. The further the camera is, the more reasonable it is to have larger, less detailed damages.

  1. Start by selecting an object and click on the "Make Damage" button. Then, adjust the OCD Modifier settings to achieve your desired effect.

    Note

If you're working with multiple objects, you might wonder which one to select first. I usually choose a medium-sized object and use it as a reference for scale. This helps ensure that the damage applied to other objects is consistent and neither too small nor too large.

  2. Next, select the other objects you want to apply the damage to. Make sure the first damaged object remains the Active one (the last object selected). The "Make Damage" button will now change to "Copy Damage," indicating that you can copy the damage parameters from the Active object to all other selected (undamaged) objects.

  3. After copying the damage parameters, all selected objects will share the same Damage settings as the first one. However, you can still adjust each object individually if needed.

  4. Want to use a different object as the scale reference or make other changes? You might wonder how to update the other objects with the new parameters.

    OCD Workflow 04

    • Simply select the objects you want to update while keeping the object with the desired parameters as the Active one. Then, click on the "Sync Damage" button in the OCD Control Panel to apply the updated parameters to all selected objects.

  5. Alternative Method: While the "Sync Damage" operator is convenient, there's another way to make changes to multiple objects at once. Select all the objects you want to modify, hold down the Alt key, and make your adjustments (e.g., enter a new Voxel Size). Press Enter, and the changes will apply to all selected objects.

    Note

You can also copy all modifiers (not just OCD Modifiers) from the Active object to the selected objects by using the Ctrl+L hotkey combination. This will open the Link/Transfer Data menu, where you can select "Copy Modifiers."
